what did you use to drill out your spotwelds? was it a special cutter or just a drill bit?
|

a little of both. I (had a spot weld removal bit) don't know were I put it, so I did what i should not have, used a drill bit.

Stupid question; what's wrong with using a drill bit?

What should you do?

well there is a special tool made for spot welds that goings onto a drill and allows you to cut around the outer portion of the weld. then you can take the 2 parts apart. it does not drill all the way throw the 2 parts. i will try and find the link so everyone knows where to get on. i think it was about $20.

I can see how that'd be useful for restoration.
