dragonfli_x

raxles came in... opportune time for me to do the rest of my suspension exchanges... like the control arm bushings, bump stops, axles ... but I think we need to work on Neko's timing belt because I feel we've neglected him with our own stuff... anyone up for a mini GTG (if the maki okays it Smilie_PDT ) to work on carz ... so next week we'll have minimal stuff to do and can do the party thing without being too drained?
fxgolf

let me know what you want to do.

aiight... here's the skinny pull apart will begin tonight - there's a 40-50% chance of rain so I'll probably be home anyway... tranny's coming down, gotta find some syncromesh from autozone or something. And depending on how many people show up, we can probably get the control arm/suspension stuff done while the tranny is grounded...

while some of us are removing bolts and what not, others can help felix can do his rabbit exhaust. Which reminds me, FELIX, call me later so we can sync up after work and get some items of interest [spray gun, weld coil, my synchromesh, maybe even a prybar because I heard I was gonnna need it for my raxle install.

if Roderick comes saturday, we might be able to kick out his timing belt and stuff while you guys with the big guns are helping me wedge my tranny back in :  Smilie_PDT

The ultimate in multi tasking Smilie_PDT

and sooner than later, travis needs to replace a blown wastegate gasket

unfortunatly, I have to work all weekend long, so i will not be able to make it. BUT......the good part is that next weekend I have off, So i should be able to attend the GTG next saturday...... Brad

I'm available if someone would like an extra pair of hands (or a wrench monkey Smilie_PDT).

I have an impact wrench and some other goodies if someone thinks they might come in handy.

my gasket and "MISSING BOLT" should be in by next week......but what time is all this crap tomorrow? and felxi can u bring the welder? if ur not already, so i can fix my seat. and if neko is coming do u want me to bring the sway bar?
dragonfli_x

cool john, yeah, bring some muscle power, because I'm a small muthaphukr Smilie_PDT I can't seem to break that big wheel bolt thingy - it's never been off as long as I've owned the car! can you believe that!? I still got htat cheesy white paint shit on the nut! so who knows what's in there... apparently it can withstand 155 lbs of downward force and I swear I might break my breaker bar - so I might need a spare!

for those who are interested in meeting up at my house, Felix and maybe juan will show up around 10AM.

I will be starting around 8:30ish of course so if you guys wanna swing up a little earlier than 10, that's cool...

As for Neko, I don't know if he had already done his timing belt, but I hope he comes anyway.

Not sure what time i'd be able to make it out there. The Cherokee is in the garage on ramps at the moment (need a 5/16" square bit that the manual didn't call for to finish the coolant flush). I'll get my rig knocked out ASAP. I'll give you a call if i'm able to head your way Saturday.
tornadoroc16v

i have graduation today (Saturday) so i will not be able to make it.

I just got done...what time will you be working on the car till? I can be in Macon in an hour or so. My impact gun is good for 200+ lbs. I weigh more than that....so we could make it work Smilie_PDT.

it should be no problem to get the nut off when that impact gun. I dont know about your car, but on an A-1 chassis it is a 30 mm socket. I have taken numerous ones off with my impact gun....no problems Smilie_PDT

well damn, it was a long day today! from 8:30AM to 12:30AM - I got most of the stuff done, with the help of Felix, he took a propane torch to the axle nut because the bolt was on there so tight that the breaker bar we were using was bending about 5-7 degrees...not good... but the torch did the trick and bam, they were both off in less energy it took either of us to manhandle those phukrs... John showed up shortly after and we dropped the subframe completely, felix and his monstrous strength just dropped underneath the car, did a juggernaut on the tranny shook it loose, benched it like it was a baby and bam, my new pressure plate was in like butter on bread... threw it back together and we broke for lunch around 3PM -

John and I put the subframe back, changed the strut bushings and put the new raxles in their new home... goddam it was a biittttcccchhhh! sigh.... John and his heroic self didn't leave till about midnight and I stayed up to clean up shop a bit... John, I definitely owe you a good lunch or something.

final things for tomorrow, put all my crap back together, spend some time with Maki because she deserves some time since she's been working her ass off at work all day saturday. so maybe monday the car will be ready to roll unless I can pull everything back together before 2PM or so.

long day, Felix, John - thank you soooo much for your help - wouldn't be at this point in the game without either of ya'll Smilie_PDT
