Sum Old Guy's 1991 GTi - 8 VALVES OF DEATH FO YA!! |
|
Here is my old GTi. Well, it's been pampered like crazy. It doesn't see the outside of a garage very much. I'm even getting worse and thinking of putting some laminate flooring on the garage floor. lol
It's not stock, but mildly modded. -Techtonics everything:
-Complete TT 2.25" exhaust manifold to tailpipe, High flow Cat (used to run No Cat in another state). Still have the no cat TT downpipe if anyone's interested. I kinda like the high flow cat.
-TT Eprom chip. Yes, it actually works for DigiII. Mainly in the mid-rpms, which is what I was shooting for.
-The K&N filter for the stock airbox with no mods to the airbox. Took the advice of a lot of really good mechanics on that.
-TT 266 cam
-stock suspension right now with copy-cat Borbet wheels. About to have the wheels re-powder coated cause some bozo somewhere told me to use degreaser to get rid of my brake dust. After screwing up my wheels, I ONLY STRICLY AND EXCLUSIVELY use dustless brake pads!!
-Can't tell from the pic, but dual round badged grille with Kamei upper and lower grille spoilers. Normally don't care for those, but they look pretty decent in black.
Practically everything else is stock or OEM. Interior wise, the only real issue is the drivers seat, which was broken but re-welded and the bolsters had been worn through. But hey, it's 17 years old. The driver's seat has about 85% of the original fabric. Had to get a bolster re-upholstered and it was OEM fabric obviously. All the other seats are pristine, with original fabric, hardware, etc.
LOve this car to death, even with all the hundreds of issues I have uh, every week!!

lol
There are quite a few actually. I saw a really clean stock to the bone MKII 4 Door Golf that looks like the guy takes care of it better than I do (and thats pretty damn hard to do).

I miss my MKII every day that it rains, cause it sits in the garage.
Man, if I had a R32, I would really be messed up.
lol

We should gtg, cause I have been looking to buy the wheels you have, but in a bigger size.
Holla at the old guy, 342-9412. When the weather is good, I try to find any kind of reason to drive somewhere. I think i have about $300 worth of crap from the Dollar Tree in Warner Robins sitting in my old car, not to mention the 1,000 or so visits to the base for "general retiree" questions I seem to have every other day. lol
Holla
