I will critique your choices for modifying your car... constructive criticism .. nothing more, cool?
paul... paul paul... the wing on the rear does not do a VW, let alone a Jetta any justice (coming from a guy who has decided to put a big vented hood on his own jetta )
If you do decide to go this route, but I do not recommend it, you will have a very difficult uphill battle awaiting you... sleek is the name of the game when modifying a German car... 'Clean' also falls into this category.
You need a set of wheels that I'm trying to get rid of ;) ... some oettinger RE 18x8s
your 2L engine with a wing of that size or any bolt on wing will become a silent laughter mod - trust me... you need to grow out of this era quick.
For looks, the car needs a drop of at least 1.5" 2 would be the money shot, slammed on airbags would be pure sexual chocolate, but only from a looks aspect.
Tails are okay, you will meet haters more often than not... a dark tint over them will keep them less of an attention getter.
Antenna is a good subtle mod that adds to the appearance without being overbearing.
The tint is nice and dark... maybe slightly illegal?
Most individuals start off with simple mods such as this, but realize that you can't necessarily mod the german car the same way you can mod a japanese import...
headlights are good if you can get a hold of some "joey modded" headlights for a relatively cheap price... it's basically a stock headlight with blacked out housings.
what kind of engine are you plannign on swapping into it? it might make the difference with that intake and exhaust fitting correctly...
thumbs up for getting your feet wet into the whole euro-modding scene. I would definitely look into a nice set of lightweight wheels to complement your overall goals. My suggestion? no chrome

I have blue LEDs in my vents, so I'm keeping my mouth shut. Do what you like, but you will get more love from this group with less show and more go. But then again, some of these guys spend thousands modding and re-modding because there is no satisfying them. ;)
You've got a good start, easing into the mechanical stuff. Spend some time with these guys, you'll learn a lot about VWs -- and you'll relize that Drogonfli_x isn't hatin'. But don't let anyone talk you into anything you don't like or don't want to do.

i kno the wing is a lil overbearing, but it was only 80 bucks with half off because they were merging with another company, plus i like huge spoilers ,
been looking at a 1.5k engine V6 ( off a 2000 jetta with 50k miles on it), but i dunno yet..
it will work with my intake so thats ok
i might try and sell it, a guy is offering me 6k, not much but i got it for free,
maybe join the club and get a golf...
havent decided :(
thx for the tips hehe

the trimming down of the arms might look pretty decent! try it out and get us some better pics! Not trying to tell you how it HAS to be done, but if you'd just lower it with some springs that Neko is selling and get a good set of shocks, the car will look so much better! that and if you grab a set of 17's or 18's, it'll complement the look that you are going for... just no chrome
wheel spacers for the rear will create a well desired stance as well. (shoot for 10mm-20mm - but don't forget to get longer wheelbolts... can you swing about $600 for a Brand new set of wheels/tires?
