DOES ANYONE OWN A STRUT TOOL?? |

the one to tighten the top nut down. Tried using a 22mm socket but have had no success with getting a grip on the shaft while turning the nut....Is it me or do I sound really gay right about now?? HELP!!

I've got a home-made one from a 9/16 socket (use with vice grips)... Willing to lend it out if you want to give it a try. Worked like a champ on my '01 Beetle and a friends '96 Jetta.
If you want to make one yourself: use a 9/16 socket, cut the open end to look like this:

Then you can use vise-grips to turn it and put an allen wrench down the center to hold the shaft...
Yup, I said "hold the shaft".

thats basically what me and felix used, a long socket and vice grips.......but if you can get a offset wrench it sould work fine.
