 99 jetta cold air intake |

just bought a 4 cyl . 2.0 SOHC cold air intake from spider,
when it came in i didnt get any instructions
awesome.
anyone feel like telling me how to get all this shit swapped out? :(
moved from georgia so i cant really meet you anywhere

you need to remove the air box, batt, batt tray, and whatever under body cover you have on the driver side. After those have been removed, it should be pretty straight forward how things go together.

wait a sec...remove the battery? :O, i took out the old air filter yesterday.. and held it in there and didnt see how to would work...same specs for my car, unless im just retarded

pretty much got this figured out... my partner here says i gotta oil the metal tube for the intake... any truth to this ? :O

Don't want oil in the intake, don't want oil on the intake. If you need help getting some of the rubber or silicone fittings to slide, use water. If that doesn't work, put a drop of dish soap in a full bucket of water and try that.

ok plan on spending a few hours to get my intake / tail lights in 2mro...
the entire battery needs to be taken out completly and then put back in after i install in intake right?.. ended up saying fuck it to today was frustrated...
wasnt tough getting it installed in my brothers jeep what so ever...
friggin europeans... with ur badass cars that confuse me...

ok big probelm...
the throttle body is connected to a hose... that hose has a electronic heat sensor attached to it...
am i supposed to slide the pipe into that hose... or is it going to require me to cut the ocordian (sp?) and attach the metal body to that hose?
... this sucks :(

looks like you've almost got it - don't cut anything, try not to do any trimming, because it shouldn't need it - you WILL have to get under the car to attach the filter to the piping but that should be it... it is a COLD AIR INTAKE, not a "cool" or "short ram" intake, so just clamp the accordion hose to the pipe, place the end of that intake pipe through a noticeable hole right where it lines up, get underneath the car and attach the intake filter... done
